Video is a great way of enabling your audience to consume information quickly and easily. We already know Twitter users are frequently there to watch videos so let’s give them something to see. Businesses can use video for the three E’s: Engage, Entertain, Educate.
Firstly, Engaging with your audience through video will give your brand a personality and put a face to a name. This could be for a Q&A Session or a Meet the Team, whatever you choose to cover it will be a nice change of pace from other Tweets and GIFs on the timeline.
Next, Entertaining through video will keep social fun, as it should be, and make your brand more likeable. These videos could be outtakes from the more serious shoots or perhaps your interpretation of a viral trend. Bring your customers to each event you attend via Twitter Live Video. Use the event hashtags to connect with other event-goers and those keeping up with the goings-on through Twitter.
To do this, open the Twitter App on your device and click the new tweet button. From here, select the picture upload icon and then the camera. You will then be able to choose whether to ‘Capture’ a video to post. Lights, Camera, Action!
To go live, follow the same steps above but swap from ‘Capture’ mode to ‘Live’. Here you can create a tweet explaining what’s happening and go live. Once live, you can invite your guest to join you and switch the camera from front to back facing or vice-versa. Once you have finished your live video you can edit your broadcast, view your stats or delete it. If you don’t delete it, your broadcast will be shared to your Twitter timeline.
To upload a video from your library to Twitter, open the App on your device and click the new tweet icon. Next, click the picture icon on the bottom left and select your video. You will then be able to crop it from the beginning and end if needed to fit the Twitter-length limits. Don’t forget to add some copy to your Tweet before publishing to give your post some context.
